How to Play the Fiddle : Fiddle Playing

Has anyone played guitar then learned to play the fiddle?

I am a guitar player of two years, and am of decent talent. I also played clarinet and saxophone but both of those were more than five years ago. My question is, how difficult is it to go from playing the guitar to the fiddle? Has anyone here done it?

The great Chet Atkins had first auditioned at the Grand Ole Opry as a fiddler. But when a certain agent heard Chet play guitar off-stage, he told Mr. Guitar to stick with the guitar.

The rest became history.
